I used Chat GPT to write this entire blog … AI isn’t replacing us (yet)

Ok guys, when you see bold and italicized text, it’s me, Anne, actually writing this. The rest is ChatGPT. Let’s analyze how good it is, what I’d change as someone who eats/sleeps SEO and has a degree in English, and see if we learn something. LET’S GO!

Artificial intelligence has officially entered the chat—and every marketer on Earth has had the same thought:
Am I… obsolete now?

The short answer?
No. But if you’re not adapting, that’s when you should start to worry.

AI is changing the way we market, create, and connect—but it’s not here to take your job. It’s here to change it. Let’s break down what AI means for marketing in 2025, how to actually use it (without sounding like a robot), and why your brand still needs you more than ever.

How AI Is Changing the Marketing Game

Let’s be real—AI is no longer just for tech bros and sci-fi plots. It’s in our email subject lines, our ad targeting, and even our Canva templates. I can always tell when something is written by ChatGPT because it starts every paragraph with “Let’s be real” or some other kicker that your Dad learned in the 80s and still uses.

Here’s how marketers are already using AI:

🧠 Content creation: Tools like ChatGPT (hi 👋) (omg it did NOT do a self-insert… y’all really have to make sure you’re reading these or this is what you’ll end up publishing on your site), Jasper, and Copy.ai can help draft blog posts, captions, email newsletters, and more. Actually I fully agree with this. Chatsy is a GREAT starting point if you’re not feeling creative.

📊 Data analysis & segmentation: AI can slice and dice your customer data faster than you can say “open rate.”

🖼️ Design assistance: Adobe Firefly and Canva’s Magic tools are helping people generate visuals and clean up content in seconds. I’ve personally never had success with this. AI is at this moment, March 21st, 2025, not good enough to be making images. And I’ve always said that.

🎯 Ad optimization: Platforms like Meta and Google Ads use machine learning to tweak campaigns in real-time.

Sounds like magic, right? But here’s the catch...

There’s always a catch.

Why AI Still Can’t Replace Real Marketers

AI is a tool—not a strategist, not a storyteller, and definitely not a vibe curator.

It can suggest what to say, but not how to say it in a way that makes your dream client go, “Omg, that’s me.”
It can write a caption, but it can’t write it in your voice.
It can make a graphic, but it doesn’t know your brand’s inside jokes, quirks, or why your audience hates Comic Sans.

Translation: AI gives you the ingredients, but you are still the chef.

Asking AI to write this blog is actually so meta. But it’s… right. It’s just a tool to help you optimize your time, not replace what you actually need to be doing.

yep, used canva’s “magic grab” tool. powered by AI. so much easier than adobe.

What Do Social Media Marketing Agencies Do in an AI Era?

If AI can generate content… what’s the point of hiring a boutique digital marketing agency? now come on now…

So glad you asked.

Here’s what we actually do at Far Fetched Marketing:

🌀 Brand Strategy & Voice Creation: We help you sound like a real human—not a robot—online.

📅 Content Calendars That Make Sense: AI can spit out a week’s worth of posts, but we know what should be posted, when, and why.

📲 Engagement & Growth Strategy: We don’t just post—we build relationships, community, and brand loyalty.

🎨 Custom Design & Visual Identity: Your vibe deserves more than stock templates and cookie-cutter branding.

🧠 Creative Campaigns That Stand Out: We build brand experiences, not just content. Think events, collaborations, giveaways, and guerilla-level ideas.

Alright, ChatGPT gave me SOME credit here. But it didn’t mention how often it’s WRONG. What we colloquially call AI is really just a predictive text model- it’s not thinking as hard as it says it is, it’s just guessing the most likely next word that it should type based on your input and others input. Once, I spent $13 for an Etsy witch to analyze my birth chart (true story!) and then asked Chat GPT to do the same, and spoiler alert… the Etsy witch actually read it. Chat GPT mis-identified me as a Scorpio. Unforgivable, low key.

How Social Media Marketing Works (Even with AI)

The core of social media marketing hasn’t changed. It’s still about showing up consistently, building trust, and making people feel something. AI just helps make it faster (and sometimes easier).

Here’s how we combine human creativity + AI efficiency:

  1. Strategy comes first. We use AI to brainstorm—but always filter it through your brand lens. I actually spend so much time asking Chat GPT 4 to learn all of our client’s voices and brand kits. Kinda cool. Since we work remote and don’t always have someone to brainstorm with, Chatsy takes the place of a coworker to shoot the sh*t with.

  2. Smart content creation. AI helps with outlines or drafts, then we tailor it with voice, tone, and personality. To be so honest, it usually tells helps me with the direction I DONT want to go in. Sorry, Chatsy.

  3. Time-saving tools. From caption writing to scheduling, we use automation strategically to free up brain space for the bigger picture.

  4. Results tracking. AI helps us see what’s working—then we use our judgment to pivot if needed.

Marketing Ideas to Get New Customers (With and Without AI)

You don’t need to be a robot to win new business. You just need a good idea and the guts to be different. Here are some bold, practical ideas:

🔍 Use AI to analyze competitors, then do the opposite. Zig when they zag.

💌 Create a lead magnet with AI + human polish. Let AI draft, then add your sass, expertise, or heart.

📹 Try AI voiceovers for Reels or TikToks—but still show your face. People buy from people, not avatars.

🎨 Design AI-assisted moodboards for your next campaign. Let it inspire—not replace—your vision.

These aren’t bad. A little lazy, but not bad. You should definitely be analyzing competitors, but there are tools like Metricool that you can rely on more than AI for accurate analytics. The rest of the stuff is fun to mess around with in brainstorming.

about halfway through this blog i started to second guess myself and added in the following section:

The short answer: No, Google won’t penalize you just because AI helped write it.

The longer answer:

Google does care about content quality, originality, and usefulness to the user—not how it was written. Here's what that means:

✅ You're in the clear if:

  • The content is unique to your site (not copy-pasted from another website)

  • It provides real value to human readers

  • It matches your brand voice and speaks to your audience

  • It's factually accurate and well-structured

  • You’ve edited/tweaked it enough to make it truly yours

    🚩 You're in trouble if:

  • You publish generic, low-effort AI content that sounds robotic or spammy

  • You use the same content across multiple sites (duplicate content)

  • You keyword-stuff or create content just to trick search engines (aka black-hat SEO)

TL;DR:

Google doesn’t care if AI helped—it cares whether the content is helpful.

And because I’m writing this specifically for you and your brand’s goals, and you’re using it intentionally (and likely tweaking it a bit), you’re good. If anything, you’re ahead of the game because you’re pairing SEO smarts with creative strategy.

Final Thoughts

AI is the intern, not the CEO. LOL

It can speed things up, spark new ideas, and make your workflow smoother. But when it comes to creative storytelling, bold strategy, and authentic branding—there’s still no substitute for the human touch.

At Far Fetched Marketing, we’re using AI in ways that enhance what we do, not replace it. So if you’re looking for a boutique digital marketing agency that’s blending strategy, creativity, and just a touch of chaos—you’re in the right place. To be so honest, we’re not using AI that often. If it gets better, we might use it more. But for now, we just recommend it as a brainstorming tool. And sometimes for use on headshots to see what you’d look like in Yellowstone or Downton Abbey.
