Team Jerry Pounds - Top Performing Mortgage Loan Officer HOW BUILDING A STRONG REVIEW FOOTPRINT WITH AN EMAIL CAMPAIGN IMPROVES SEARCH AND AI DISCOVERABILITY OVER TIME
Background:I developed an email campaign for Jerry Pounds, a Pittsburgh-based mortgage loan officer, designed to improve his visibility in search and emerging GenAI platforms such as ChatGPT and Copilot.
Because mortgage professionals cannot directly solicit five-star reviews, I created a campaign called “Surprise Jerry.” The concept invited past clients and industry partners to leave honest Google reviews to help strengthen Jerry’s online reputation and improve search visibility.
The campaign used targeted email segments for both past clients and professional partners such as Realtors and title agents. Emails included suggested prompts that naturally incorporated location and industry keywords, helping strengthen Jerry’s SEO footprint.
Check out a sample of one of the emails from the drip campaign below, and then scroll to see the results…
Results:The campaign delivered strong engagement across both audiences, with open rates as high as 77.5 percent and click rates exceeding 22 percent.
As a result, Jerry’s Google reviews grew from 5 to 32, significantly strengthening his online authority. His name now appears in ChatGPT search results for top mortgage professionals in Pittsburgh, demonstrating how reputation-focused email campaigns can directly influence modern search visibility.
This case study highlights the impact of treating online reputation as a strategic search asset. By designing a campaign that encouraged authentic client feedback and incorporated natural location and industry language, Jerry’s review footprint grew into a powerful signal of credibility across the web. As those signals accumulated, so did his visibility, demonstrating how a consistent review strategy can strengthen authority in both traditional search and emerging AI platforms.
